Samoa Joe relinquishes ROH TV title, says he’s going after AEW World title

Samoa Joe successfully defeated Keith Lee to retain the ROH TV title yesterday but then after the match, Joe relinquished the title saying he has bigger things to fry and would be going for the AEW World title.

The surprise twist came after Keith Lee passed out from the Coquina Clutch, with the referee ending the match and awarding the win to the champion.

The dumping of the title like that does make the ROH TV title not look important and AEW missed the opportunity to crown a new champion the proper way in the process.

Joe has held the ROH TV title for a whopping 575 days, shooting him up in #1 place on the longest-reigning chart. He won the title on April 12, 2022 against Minoru Suzuki on Dynamite.
