AEW President Tony Khan had one of those days yesterday and completely lost it on X after he complained about the double standard shown between Hook and Jinder Mahal both going for the title.
In a message posted at 10:35PM, Khan wrote, “@730hook 28-1 career record, on winning streak calls out the Champ, a logical challenge sparks online outrage. Jinder has literally lost every single match he’s in for the past year, immediately gets title shot, where is the rage.”
He then plugged Dynamite for tonight on TBS.
That prompted a barrage of replies, some hilarious, and some questioning his double standards especially when he called out Vince McMahon’s sexual escapades and failing to call out Chris Jericho’s sexual misconduct allegations.
Khan even went to take on the USA Network X account when the network hilariously replied to someone else what was the Cagematch rating between Rollins and Mahal in NXT back in the day.
“A moral victory for USA is one win more than their World Title challenger Jinder Mahal has in the past 364 days,” Khan wrote. “Because it’s been literally a full year since he won a match. You really put AEW in our place getting Jinder Mahal in a big match on your tv show. Do it more often.”
That sparked a reply from Jinder himself, who wrote, “Who tf is Hook?” and to watch Raw on USA Network in the same manner Khan wrote his post. That was later deleted.
Eric Bischoff, a big critic of Khan, also chimed in when he replied to Khan’s post with a clown emoji. Khan replied posting an image with “get out of my sight, you miserable has-been.”
Bischoff then asked Khan if it’s true or “bot” when someone wrote, “Tony forgets that he literally gave Abadon a title shot after being off AEW TV for over a year…. the same exact situation as Jinder.”
“No @EBischoff, not true at all,” Khan responded. “Abadon returned to AEW + then they won a 4 way match on TNT against other great wrestlers to earn a title shot, which is completely different than someone going a full year losing every match they’re in + getting a title shot without a single win.”
Then in true Dave Meltzer fashion, Khan told Bischoff that “reading would be your friend” and at 12:44AM he then decided to get off X and presumably, and hopefully, go to sleep.
