Sports shows you should watch at least once

We should be grateful that today we have access to radio stations, newspapers, and tv shows through devices that fit our palms. No matter what the language and the region of origin, you have access to countless content that you can use to increase your knowledge or be entertained.

So, if you already love watching TV shows to relax and wind down at night or chill out on the weekends, chances are you have come across shows of different types and genres. Why not make a small change this time and watch some sports shows?

In all honesty, watching a good sports show fills you with an exclusive feeling. You will incur an inherent thrill of a game seasoned with an exceptionally written storyline and a solid cast. A complete sports show has all the nitty gritty ingredients, especially drama, making it a gripping story.

However, when it comes to picking between the best sports dramas, you have to struggle. This is why, we have hand-picked some of the sports shows for you. However, note that the shows are not listed in any chronological order; needless to say, all of them stand out in their own way.

Just a quick tidbit, it is futile to depend on internet speed to watch your shows because it can be a struggle, especially during peak cyber-traffic times. Therefore, you must rely on a cable tv service.  Mediacom, for example, offers over 170 channels of all genres and also offers On Demand service with thousands of movies and TV shows. With that note, let’s find out the best sports shows:

1.    Friday Night Lights

Friday Night Lights is far ahead of other sports shows. Whether you call it our bias or not, it has to be the best ever show created about sports. The show accomplished an exclusive feat for sports television with its exemplary storytelling.

The series is adapted from the 2004 film of the same title. Set in Dillon, a close-knit community in Texas, the show resembles a game around this place and unfolds the story of a high-school football team and its coaching staff.

What sets this show apart is that it particularly unearths the modern complications in American culture, including family values, racism, school funding, drugs, abortion, and lack of economic opportunities.

The show is full of heart, beautifully shot, and features a highly talented cast, to say the least.

2.    ESPN 30 for 30

30 for 30 is a great show with great topics and interesting subjects. It is a  series of documentary films that air not only on ESPN, but also on its sister networks. This series includes three volumes and each of which includes 30 episodes. The show has, thus, covered everything  you may need to know about in the sports world. From Football stories to basketball rivalries, you name it, the show has covered it all.

3.    The League

The League, at its heart, is simply a show about a group of friends. The story of the show is about these friends who participate in a fantasy league. Like all other adventurous youngsters out there, these friends commit to doing anything to win- which they actually do. But what comes off as a struggle for them is dealing with the outcomes of their actions, particularly the dangerous antics that they pull-off on one another.

Overall, this is a super-fun show, and you will enjoy it thoroughly.

4.    Undefeated

The next one on our list is Undefeated, an Oscar-winning documentary. While we know we have listed many football shows here, we sheepishly inform you that this is also a show revolving around football.

The show is about an underdog team, Manassas Tigers of Memphis, which could be called a team of chockers as it never wins a playoff game. The story is about grit and teamwork where players pave their path to navigate through the odds to become the first ever lot to win a playoff.

In order to know how they do it, you will have to watch the show.

5.    Sports Night

Sports Night is a prime-time comedy-drama that used to air on ABC from 1998 to 2000. It is a fictional sports news show that highlights the struggle to produce a good show under a network’s pressure. It was a highly captivating show, but the show was doomed before it could fly high.

Bottom Line

If you are up to watching some sports content this time around, we have got you our suggestions listed in the article. Check out the shows and see how they build your interest in this genre.
