Tyson Fury’s next opponent announced

Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is set to battle it out with Italian Francesco Pianeta next month at Belfast’s Windsor Park.

The fight will see Fury enter the ring for the second time since his ending 32-month absence from the sport, having defeated Sefer Seferi last month, with the Albanian retiring after four rounds.

The 29-year-old Mancunian continues to re-establish himself in a bid to secure a seemingly inevitable clash with Anthony Joshua. Joshua, 28, currently holds the IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight belts, and looks set to fight Alexander Povetkin in September before a potential unification bout with Deontay Wilder.

Meanwhile, Fury, who endured difficulties in his personal life following his shock victory over Wladimir Klitschko in Dusseldorf in late 2015, is now on the comeback trail, and his promoter Frank Warren expects Pianeta to provide a sterner test for the Gypsy King, with a 55% knockout rate from 40 career fights.

“The Seferi fight is history and Pianeta is a far better operator than him. His level of opposition tells you that,” he said.

New betting sites have the latest offers on Tyson Fury to continue his comeback in style.

The fight is set to feature on the undercard as Carl Frampton returns home to defend his interim WBO World Featherweight title against the undefeated Australian Luke Jackson.
