What are the best short exercises to do everyday?

Doing something even as simple as taking an hour walk every day can have positive effects on one’s health. The bottom line is simply to get yourself moving, and do physical activities like our bodies are meant for!

As we spend more and more time in our lives off our feet, we can see major consequences affecting people globally. Obesity rates are high in many wealthy nations, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was in large part due to our immobility in our modern lives.

Besides just obesity, sitting and lying down for long periods of time can lead to many other negative health effects. For instance, Deep Vein Thrombosis or DVT is known to be a problem for truck drivers who can be sitting for possibly 12 or more hours a day driving.

Now, I don’t really think that people need to be told why doing some exercise every day is good for you. The problem for most people will lie in what exactly should they do?

For some, they might be fine going to the gym, others might not. It’s kind of like how some people might be shy to go to a physical casino. Yet, they would play just fine on Jackpot Capitol bonus.

At the end of the day, there is some form of exercise for everyone. Whether you want to build muscle, lose weight, or simply just be more healthy, here are some easy and short exercises that you can do every day.

Running

This list could just simply not be complete without running. According to studies, running is the single best exercise you can do if you want to improve your overall health. This could even include making you live longer.

And, you don’t even need that much! A simple 5 to 10 minute run every day has been shown to possibly have positive health effects such as decreasing the risk of heart attack and heart disease.

So, if you really have no other time for any other exercise, running is your best bet. It’s easy, it’s accessible, and its something anyone can do without much or any special equipment or training.

Planks

Another incredibly simple, yet very good exercise that you can do every day is planking. For those who may not know, planks are an exercise where you essentially hold a pushup position for a certain amount of time to help strengthen your core.

This can be done on your hands, or on your forearms, and is a great simple and static exercise anyone can do. And, it doesn’t take that much to see some results! Even a minute of planking a day can help strengthen your core over time.

Now, you won’t really burn much fat just by planking, but strengthening your core muscles is something everyone should be interested in as it will improve your ability to do many other exercises.

Push-Ups

The humble pushup is one of the most well-known calisthenic exercises that exist. There is even the old standard for a bodyweight exercise routine that is Pushups Pullups and Dips.

Pushups are like planks in that they engage your core while you do them. You are supposed to keep your body straight, and this engages your core in a similar manner to a plank.

However, pushups also add the dynamic movement of going up and down on your arms. You slowly lower yourself to just above the ground, then try to quickly push yourself back up to the top of the motion.

This is great because this simple movement, like most bodyweight exercises, engages a lot of muscles at once.  In total, you are actually engaging 5 muscle groups when you do a pushup.

The obvious ones are your triceps (the muscles on the back of your arms) and your pectoral muscles on your chest. But you also engage your deltoids which are your shoulder muscles, your abdominal muscles (like I mentioned earlier), and your serratus interior muscles (under your arms).

Standing

Finally, although this isn’t really an exercise, simply standing more during the day can have positive effects on your health. People are starting to catch onto this as well, as standing desks are becoming more and more in vogue.

Some of the simple health benefits are that you burn slightly more calories when you stand, you aren’t sitting so you don’t need to worry about immobility problems as much like DVT, and you will have better posture as you are standing erect and not sitting slouched.
