Hell In A Cell 2018 PPV Pick’em report

Hey everybody! It’s @TheMagnumDA with another installment of the PPV Pick’em report! This month, it’s going to be HELL as WWE presents Hell in a Cell, live on the WWE Network. Tonight, both Don and Tom will be using their combined picks towards the total season score. What are those season scores, you ask?

Colin: 53 Points
Hell Turn Tom: 51 Points
MagnumDA: 50 Points
Tricky Don: 49 Points

Don’t forget! You can still win a digital copy of WrestleMania 34! How? The rules are simple: Using the hashtag #BeatTheCrew, send me a tweet (@TheMagnumDA) with your picks for this month’s PPV. If you beat the highest score from our team of prognosticators (Colin, Don & Tom, Magnum DA), YOU will win a digital copy of WrestleMania 34! This is a copy you can put on your computer or personal device, so you can take it with you anywhere without needing an Internet connection or the WWE Network. Think you can beat The Crew? Try us.

Here’s our picks for Hell in a Cell! Oh, as a bonus…each HIAC match is worth THREE POINTS!

Pre-Show: Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match: New Day (c) vs. Rusev Day

Colin: I feel bad for Rusev, he’s so over and yet he always finds himself in the Kickoff shows. That’s two in a row for him now. The New Day retains.

Don & Tom: While the New Day are go-to champs. it would make sense that Rusev Day finally gets their push that they have deserved since the beginning of the year. We’re going out on a limb to celebrate a Rusev Day title win.

Magnum: It’s crazy that this has been relegated to pre-show, but that’s nothing new for Rusev. Poor guy. Anyways, give me the New Day to retain.

Mixed Tag match: Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella vs. The Miz and Maryse

Colin: I’m undecided for this match. You would think Bryan needs the big pay off but it shouldn’t come in a mixed match. Miz is already one-up over Bryan, so maybe they’ll have one of the women take the fall here and leave the feud between the men for another day. I’d say Maryse will be the one doing the job in this one so a win for Bryan and Bella.

Don & Tom: With a new contract, now it’s time to push Bryan and eventually get him in a program of the WWE champ. Daniel Bella scores a victory.

Magnum: I think Brie will make Maryse tap out. This means that Bryan never beat Miz (so the feud can continue), but it also means that Bryan gets revenge for Summerslam. Brie and Bryan win it!

Raw Tag Team Championship Match: Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins vs. Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre (c)

Colin: This should be a great match. I think Ziggler and McIntyre will cheat to win this one and then Ambrose and Rollins will have payback, helping Reigns retain the title over Strowman.

Don & Tom: This is a hard one since I don’t see either team being together a long time. It feels like The Shield has been getting beat down a little too much. Shield walks out new Raw tag champs.

Magnum: I actually think that none of the Raw titles will change hands. Heck, I am pretty sure NONE of the titles will change tonight. Give me Ziggler and McIntyre to retain.

Raw Women’s Championship Match: Alexa Bliss vs. Ronda Rousey (c)

Colin: This is the biggest no-brainer of the whole card. I don’t see Rousey losing it for now, plain and simple. Ronda wins.

Don & Tom: This will be like an Amazon commercial when the referee keeps asking Alexa if she wants to tap out. Ronda wins and retains.

Magnum: They’re going the distance with Ronda. Sorry, Miss Bliss. Rousey retains.

Smackdown Women’s Championship Match: Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair (c)

Colin: This is a tough one because the fans are really behind Becky and having her lose would kinda halt her momentum. But a face chasing the title is always fun than the other way round. I think they will save the title switch for Evolution so I say Charlotte retains here.

Don & Tom: Unless they do a double switch in this match, we don’t see the mean Becky going anywhere. We think they keep building to Flair and Rousey at WrestleMania so Charlotte to win.

Magnum: I look at this show as the first chapter for a feud that will last multiple months. This is no different. Eventually, Becky will beat her to become champion. Just not tonight. Charlotte retains.

Hell In a Cell Match: Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy

Colin: I just hope Jeff Hardy doesn’t kill himself in this one. Jeff + cages = danger. I still think Randy Orton will come out victorious in this one but I think there will be some crazy spots as only Jeff can do best.

Don & Tom: I don’t know why this is still a story line. I thought Hardy was injured and would be taking time off. Maybe that was just Matt. Sorry to team extreme but an RKO out of nowhere for Orton to win.

Magnum: This is pretty much the de facto #1 Contender’s Match for the WWE Championship, and since I see AJ retaining the WWE Championship…I’m going to run with Randy Orton as the next #1 Contender. Why wouldn’t they just make it an official “#1 Contender’s Match” so that people actually feel like something’s at stake? You better not “Big League” RKO…because he’s your new #1 Contender.

WWE Championship Match: Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles (c)

Colin: AJ Styles is nearing one full year of being a champion, which is very, very rare these days. He’s been a tremendous champ but if there’s anyone who can take it away from him, it’s Samoa Joe. Can you believe it that there would be two former TNA champs in a row as WWE champions!? I think it’s time to hit the switch on the title change here. New champion, Samoa Joe.

Don & Tom: This one is personal and Joe won the first by DQ. These two will put on a great match and I want this story line to continue. We see AJ winning and the rubber match will happen at Survivor Series.

Magnum: Again, I know they are trying to recreate the Eddie vs. Rey feud of 2005…but the heat just isn’t there. Try as they might, people do not care about this whole “bringing the family into the angle” stuff – unless you have a serious swerve coming. I could not see AJ agreeing to something like that, so give me Styles to retain in a wild affair.

WWE Universal Championship Hell In a Cell Match: Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns (c)
(Money in the Bank cash-in, Mick Foley as special referee)

Colin: I find it hard to believe that after Reigns went through hell to get the title from Lesnar, he would drop it just a month later. Failed MITB cash-ins are not the norm, and you would think that they wouldn’t do this with Strowman. But somehow, there will be a lot of outside interference and one way or another, Reigns will find a win.

Don & Tom: Braun used to be a funny comedic giant. Now, WWE has me not caring about either and I am not All In on either getting a cheer. But Roman and The Shield must pose, so Roman to retain with a little help from his friends.

Magnum: I’ve gotta be honest…I have no idea where this “Dogs of War” thing came from, or why Braun turned heel. I’m also not sure why they brought The Shield back to protect Roman Reigns. At first, it seemed like The Shield would be the ones turning heel, which could have been interesting…but I get it. T-Shirt sales. As for this match? I don’t see Roman Reigns losing. He’s had too many title reigns that ended prematurely, so this one could be a while. Roman retains.

Alright fans, good luck in tonight’s pick’em! We’ll see you next month for the SUPERSHOW in Australia and EVOLUTION! #BeatTheCrew
