Many people consider wrestling a theater rather than a sport. The winner is not the one who is faster, taller, or stronger, but the one winning beautifully and according to the scenario. Therefore, the story told us by wrestlers should have a reasonable continuation or logical conclusion. However, the performance is based on classical Greco-Roman wrestling packed with add-ons like the addition of striking attacks, acrobatics, power moves, dynamic athleticism, and improvised weapons.
Today, WWE wrestling events are the most spectacular and promising. Hence, the sport has become popular in sports betting, encouraging people to place bets at online bookmakers. You can try to make money by predicting which of the fighters will win. Bookmakers often have unique types of bets on this discipline. For example, GGBET Canada offers a bet on what will last longer in the ring. This bookmaker always has high odds and free broadcasts.
World Wrestling Entertainment is an American professional wrestling company focused on producing professional wrestling events, music discs, clothing, and computer games. Founded in 1952 and originally called the Capitol Wrestling Corporation, WWE is now the largest professional wrestling federation worldwide, broadcasting events in more than 150 countries.
WrestleMania as the Most Important Event in WWE Wrestling
WrestleMania is an annual wrestling show hosted by WWE in late March or early April. It is a key pay-per-view WWE game of the year, hosting the most awaited matches and completing the main plots. WrestleMania is broadcast on the PPV system and the WWE Network and is the most successful and enduring event in the history of wrestling. WrestleMania’s resounding success transformed wrestling into an element of pop culture. Celebrities such as Aretha Franklin, Cyndi Lauper, Muhammad Ali, Laurence Tureaud, Alice Cooper, Pamela Anderson, Mike Tyson, and many others participated in WrestleMania events in different years.
What Is Waiting for Us on WrestleMania 39 This Year?
As 2023 is just around the corner, WWE finally announced the venue for the Royal Rumble next year. So, Wrestlemania 39 events will start in Los Angeles, heating up with The Alamodome in San Antonio, LA, as was officially announced in the press release.
This time will be the fourth when San Antonio hosts Royal Rumble. Alamodome is a multi-purpose stadium and the main platform for various events in this city. Let’s revise that Royal Rumble took place there in 2017, the last time Randy “The Viper” Orton hit Roman Reigns RKO to defeat him in 2017. WWE has not released major stars from the Royal Rumble game winners for many years, which is unlikely compared to what they have done before. However, everything may change due to the top three names announced as favorites:
Cody Rhodes
An “American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes (Cody Garrett Runnels) is the current favorite to win a Royal Rumble match next year, overtaking 30 other participants. So, Cody Rhodes achieved instant success for the second time at WWE after winning AEW and WWE in 2022. According to Andrew Zarian from Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast, WWE already has plans for Rhodes on WrestleMania 39 next year. However, the wrestler is currently absent after a torn pectoral muscle surgery.
Steve Austin
“Stone Cold” Steve Austin has claimed his willingness to participate in WWE WrestleMania 39. However, he had some rest after a heavy battle with Kevin Owens on WrestleMania 38. Let’s recall that “Stone Cold” defeated Kevin Owens in an impromptu fight by “No Holds Barred” rules. This match has become his first official battle for 19 years after his departure because of injuries suffered during the fight with “The Rock” on WrestleMania 19.
Dwayne Johnson
The legend is also on the list. Bryan Alvarez from WO has reported that “The Rock” did not have footage scheduled for the first quarter of 2023. Hence, it allows him to easily compete at WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles because of his shooting in another blockbuster.
In Conclusion
WWE events have become more extensive over the years. The company does its best to scale events, making them really grand. Indeed, there was a time when more than 100,000 fans attended WrestleMania. However, the company had to stop fans from attending the events because of the pandemic. Fortunately, everything returns to normal. Nick Khan, WWE President, plans to increase the number of annual WWE stadium shows and their quality. The idea of this change aims to increase revenues and public interest in wrestling.
