Alberto El Patron attacked and stabbed outside restaurant

Alberto El Patron was supposed to be part of the AAA Heroes Inmortales X show at Arena Monterrey in Mexico on Sunday night however he no-showed the event, sparking a press release from AAA blasting him for failing to honor his commitment.

However the former WWE champion had a good reason why he did not attend the show: he was stabbed before his flight outside a restaurant, leaving him with multiple lacerations on his arm and head which required medical attention. The police were also called in to document the assault.

A statement issued by his team said that he spoke with the owners of AAA and supplied them with documentation of the incident. “Mr. Rodriguez greatly regrets not being there yesterday for his fans in Mexico and promises to everyone he will make this up as soon as possible,” the statement said.

AAA later released another statement wishing him a speedy recovery and that he soon gets back in the ring to resume his successful career as one of the leading Mexican fighters in the world.
