Chris Jericho returns to New Japan Pro Wrestling and attacks Tetsuya Naito

Just when Chris Jericho said that he won’t be doing any more NJPW dates…the former WWE champion made a surprise appearance at the Dontaku show in Fukuoka, wearing a mask and attacking Tetsuya Naito, the company’s IWGP Intercontinental champion.

Jericho attacked Naito as he was on the way to the back, jumping from among the fans. He dragged Naito back to the ring and then unmasked himself as the crowd went wild. He then beat up Naito with a ring bell, busting him open.

Jericho has not appeared for New Japan Pro Wrestling since the January 5 show where he attacked Naito the day after he lost to Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 12. This angle will surely lead to Jericho wrestling Naito in an upcoming NJPW show although which one remains to be seen.

Y2J missed WrestleMania this year as he was touring with his band Fozzy but did appear for a few minutes at the Greatest Royal Rumble in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia last week.
