CM Punk told The Sun newspaper in the United Kingdom that his deal with the UFC runs for a total of eight fights, keeping the former WWE champion locked down for a few years with the MMA organization.
Speaking about his debut, Punk said, “I expect all those people that think I’m gonna get knocked out in 10 seconds to be disappointed. I expect people to bet against me and lose their money.”
UFC President Dana White said that Punk will debut at UFC 200 however he now changed his mind and said it’s more likely that he will debut a month earlier, at UFC 199. His opponent will be Mickey Gall, assuming that Gall wins his UFC debut fight against Mike Jackson during the preliminary card at UFC 196 which airs on UFC Fight Pass.
Punk will be in attendance at this show which is headlined by Werdum vs Velasquez 2 and held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
