Dwayne Johnson hosting the season finale of NBC’s Saturday Night Live

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson announced on his Instagram today that he will be hosting the season 42 finale of Saturday Night Live on May 20.

“I started my career 20 years ago in NYC and from that very first night, the city embraced me as a son. This SNL is special. I’m coming home to make history and have a KILLER show with the brilliant SNL cast and production team,” Johnson wrote. Joining The Rock will be Jimmy Fallon, Melissa McCarthy, and Chris Pine.

This will be Johnson’s fifth time hosting SNL and he is the second WWE Superstar to host SNL this season, following John Cena in December. He previously hosted episode 15 of season 25 in 2000, episode 17 of season 27 in 2002, episode 17 of season 35 in 2009, and episode 16 of season 40 in 2015, just a day before WrestleMania 31.
