Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Ballers’ TV series to premiere in June

The series premiere of Dwayne Johnson’s new television show Ballers will debut on HBO on June 21 at 10PM EST.

The former WWE champion plays the leading role of Spencer Strasmore, a retired athlete. Joining him are Omar Benson Miller, Rob Corddry, Troy Garity, and former college football players John David Washington and Donovan Carter.

The half-hour dramedy series is about a group of active and retired football players in Miami. Stephen Levinson of Entourage penned the script and Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson are listed as executive producers. Peter Berg directed the pilot episode.

HBO has ordered a full season of Ballers already.
