Dwayne Johnson’s Baywatch movie gets a director

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will soon be donning the famous red swimming trunks made popular by the television series Baywatch as Paramount is tapping director Seth Gordon for the movie based on the series.

Michael Berk, Douglas Schwartz, and Greg Bonnan – the three original executive producers of the show – will also be resuming their roles as executive producers for the movie according to Variety.

Johnson and his ex-wife and manager Dany Garcia will produce through their Seven Bucks Productions banner along with Montecito Pictures producing along with Beau Flynn.

No plot has been released for the Baywatch movie although Variety reports that Paramount wants to go the comedic route for this movie. Hopefully David Hasselhoff will also get a cameo along with Pamela Anderson, two people who pretty much made the show the hottest television series in the world.

In a tweet, Johnson said he was excited to bring Gordon to direct this rated R fun Baywatch.
