Dwayne Johnson’s newest movie picked up by DreamWorks

The Hollywood reporter has a story saying that DreamWorks has won the war to acquire the movie Alpha Squad Seven, a sci-fi action comedy film which will have Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the leading role.

The Rock will also be producing the movie through his 7 Bucks Productions company along with FlynnPictureCo.

“Excited to partner w/ DreamWorks and Beau Flynn to produce & star in ALPHA SQUAD 7. #WhatHappensInSpace #StaysInSpace,” tweeted the former champ today.

Details about the movie are still unknown apart from the fact that it’s a film set in space with a potential franchise option.

The next movie for The Rock is the disaster 3D movie San Andreas which is out on May 29. He has Central Intelligence, Moana, Shazam! and Furious 8 on his schedule as well.
