Former WWE Superstar Rusev tests positive for COVID-19

Former WWE Superstar Rusev, real name Miroslav Barnyashev, revealed during a Twitch broadcast that he has tested positive for coronavirus.

Rusev said a doctor called him and told him that he has tested positive after mispronouncing his name like six times. “I am absolutely positive for COVID-19,” he said. “I am absolutely, 100%, super, mega incredibly positive.”

He also said that he was feeling fine but lost his sense of smell and taste, two symptoms of coronavirus. It’s unclear if his wife Lana tested positive as well considering the two live together.

Lana said last week that both of her parents tested positive as well and her mother spent a few days in the ICU and required oxygen. Both are now doing better.

The former U.S. champion was rumored to be part of Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary pay-per-view this Sunday but if he’s positive there’s no way he will be part of the live show.
