Hiroshi Tanahashi named new President of New Japan Pro-Wrestling

NJPW star Hiroshi Tanahashi, who also wrestles for AEW occasionally, has been named the new President of New Japan Pro-Wrestling after the current president, Takami Ohbari, stepped down completely from his role today.

In his press release, Ohbari said that he is sure that Tanahashi will lead NJPW to a brighter future and for the company to reach new records.

Tanahashi, a former multi-time IWGP Heavyweight champion, is currently the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team champion with Kazuchika Okada and Tomohiro Ishii.

He last wrestled for AEW at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view in the AEW World title match against MJF.
