The Hogan’s Beach restaurant as well as the Best Western Bay Harbor hotel that it’s a part of were sold for $34.5 million according to the Tampa Bay Times and that is the only reason why Hogan’s association with the restaurant has ended.
The new owners will be renovating the place and while the restaurant is still operating under the Bay Harbor name, the Hogan’s Beach sign which was visible from the causeway has been removed.
Earlier rumors suggested that the hotel decided to part ways with Hogan due to his legal woes and the racist-filled sex tape video which was leaked to the Enquirer a few months ago.
“Basically everything with us is timing,” Ben Mallah, the former owner of the property said. “We buy assets and fix them up. The market is high right now. Tampa’s hot … Hogan had nothing to do with it. He was fine. Ultimately, we’re in the real estate business, not in the restaurant business.”
