Jim Ross suffering from rib injury after unplanned NJPW G1 show spot goes wrong

Jim Ross ended up in hospital after suffering from a rib injury at the NJPW show in San Francisco over the weekend.

The WWE Hall of Famer was on the wrong end of a move by the commentary table when Jay White slammed Juice Robinson into the steel guardrail and in the process he knocked the commentary table and Ross off his chair. JR’s broadcast colleague Josh Barnett got mad and actually hopped the guardrail and went after White before returning to his seat.

“For the record, the ‘bump’ I took at ringside at #G1SanFrancisco was not storyline driven matter nor was it discussed. I think I broke a rib. Couldn’t put my roller bag in the overhead today after a sleepless Sat night,” JR tweeted.

Dave Meltzer of the Observer added that Ross had to cancel three commitments because of the injury and Ross was warned to watch out as he could contract pneumonia.
