Linda McMahon is one step closer to becoming the Secretary of Education after a Senate committee voted Thursday to advance her nomination.
The Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions voted 12-11 to send her nomination to be considered by the full Senate according to the Associated Press.
McMahon’s hearing last week raised some eyebrows, mainly due to her answers on several hot topics related to education but the Republicans have toed the party line on her nomination so far.
