More on season two of Heels, AJ (Lee) Mendez joins the cast

Further details were released about the second season of Heels, which will resume on Starz on Friday, July 28 at 10PM ET.

The series, starring Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig, is based on a wrestling league in rural Georgia where the men and women of the Duffy Wrestling League chase their dreams.

According to a press release issued by Starz, season two begins after a spectacular showing at the South Georgia State Fair, and the Duffy Wrestling League’s popularity is suddenly on the upswing. Hoping to seize the opportunity, Jack and his cohorts prepare for a possible business deal with a new streaming service that may propel them onto a national stage. But the past and its tragedies threaten to upset everything when Ace leaves Duffy and the Dome in his rearview, meanwhile rival promotion Florida Wrestling Dystopia’s vengeful frontman Gully comes calling.

Former WWE Divas champion AJ “Lee” Mendez is part of the cast of season two, along with her husband and former AEW World champion CM Punk. Punk appeared in a few episodes in the first season of Heels as Ricky Rabies. AJ will play the role of Elle Dorado.
