NOT SAM WRESTLING 06/01/20
Sam Roberts felt this past SmackDown was the best one since the Corona virus changed the way they do TV. He likes the way Otis is being portrayed and sees him as a star. He feels that Otis is a person a lot of people can relate to as the person who couldn’t get the pretty girl. Even though he now has the Money In The Bank briefcase and the pretty girl, you can still feel sympathy for him against the right heel.
Sam liked the Jeff Hardy-Sheamus angle. He feels the angle is working because of the online response it is receiving, both positive and negative. People know Jeff Hardy’s real life problems and now you have a heel exploiting those problems. If you don’t agree with that happening, you are actually agreeing with the angle that this shouldn’t be done.
Sam mentioned that people should go out of the way to see Sting: The Lost Tape on the WWE Network. At Superbrawl, Sting had a match against Big Bubba Rogers. There was a production crew following Sting around. In a time when that didn’t happen, Sam said it was cool to see this footage. The run time is about 30 minutes long and includes the match.
Sam talked about the idea of the upcoming Randy Orton – Edge coming up that is being billed as “The Greatest Match Ever”. He believes this is being done tongue and cheek. The WWE put out a shirt with the 10 best matches of all time on it.
Going over the NXT In Your House, he believes Finn Balor should go over Damien Priest so it could lead to a Balor vs Adam Cole match. He loves the Karrion Kross and Scarlett ring entrance and is looking forward to seeing what that will look like in front of fans and feels he should win. He thinks Charlotte is leaving champion. He believes that when either Rhea Ripley or Io Shirai win the title, it should be one on one versus Charlotte to make more of an impact. Sam sees one title changing hands and that is Johnny Gargano winning the NXT North American championship. With this version of a heel Gargano, he has to go over. Adam Cole should beat Velveteen Dream in the final match of the card.
