Ric Flair training for in-ring return at 73 years old

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Ric Flair is training for an in-ring return, a return for a planned six-man tag team match.

Meltzer, who said Flair confirmed to him he will wrestle, said that the rumor is that the 16-time world champ will team up with FTR to take on The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express and another individual.

The 73-year-old Flair last wrestled in 2011, a 15-minute match against Sting during an episode of Impact Wrestling in Universal Studios. Flair had 12 matches during his time in TNA and had a few before that on the Hulkamania tour in Australia. His last match for WWE was at WrestleMania 24 against Shawn Michaels.

Flair has been posting videos training in the ring with Jay Lethal and the first video he posted, his daughter Charlotte simply replied, “Dad WTF?”

He had a brush with death in 2017 and ended up in a hospital for several weeks. He was put on kidney dialysis after colon surgery and had part of his bowel removed. Flair blamed his years of alcohol abuse as the cause for his health issues.
