Variety is reporting that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is likely to sign up for a new movie from New Line Cinema which is titled San Andreas, a disaster flick which is said to be also transformed into a franchise.
The story is about a man who must journey across the state of California to rescue his estranged daughter after a massive earthquake strikes California.
This would be Johnson’s second movie with New Line after the two paired up to film Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. The studio is already developing a third movie for that franchise.
The Rock is quite busy and had a massive year this year when it comes to movies and box office success. He’s currently filming Hercules and will go straight to shoot Fast & Furious 7 as soon as production in Hungary for Hercules wraps up.
New Line hopes to start production on the San Andreas movie in the first quarter of 2014.
