Soon after WWE announced the passing of Mr. Fuji, the WWE Hall of Famer was trending on Twitter with many in the business remembering him with tributes. “An unforgettable character in front of the camera and an even better one behind it. Rest in Peace, Mr. Fuji,” tweeted Triple H following WWE’s announcement.
Demolition Smash, who worked a lot of years with Fuji, wrote, “Mr Fuji was a great manager and a great friend. He will be missed big time.” Hulk Hogan had some run-ins with Fuji over the years in his wrestling career, especially when he was involved with Yokozuna. He described Fuji as one of the greats and a “true mastermind” when it came to managing champions.
“I lost a very dear friend today with the passing of Mr. Fuji. RIP ‘Uncle Harry,’” wrote fellow Hall of Famer and former ring announcer Howard Finkel. Another Hall of Famer, Jim Ross, said that Fuji was a bump machine, funny man, and one of the great robbers of all time while Gerald Brisco remembered the Fuji as a true legend and a friend to many, also agreeing with Jim Ross’ statement by describing him the “king of robbers.”
