UFC President Dana White not sure if Lesnar will get title fight against Cormier

Speaking to TMZ, UFC President Dana White said that he’s not sure anymore that the Daniel Cormier vs Brock Lesnar fight for the UFC Heavyweight champion will take place now as he prefers to have Cormier fight his arch rival Jon Jones before he retires.

Cormier has repeatedly said that he will retire once he hits 40 and that’s coming up in April. Lesnar cannot fight till mid-January and with his involvement in the Royal Rumble, the chances of a January UFC fight are pretty remote.

“I’d obviously like to see Jones and Cormier fight again at heavyweight,” White tells TMZ. “Cormier’s team wants him to retire now. They want him to retire right now. I hope we can get 3 more fights out of him.”

Lesnar, who confronted Daniel Cormier at UFC 226, entered the USADA drug testing pool in early July to continue his remaining one-year suspension stemming from two UFC 200 failed drug tests. Dana White said at the time that Lesnar would be taking on Cormier for the title in his first fight back with the promotion.
