Wrestling world mourns the death of Balls Mahoney, fundraising campaign set up

Twitter was flooded with condolences for the former ECW tag team title holder Balls Mahoney from those who worked with him including Mick Foley, Tommy Dreamer, Christopher Daniels, Al Snow, Missy Hyatt, Steve Corino, Rob Van Dam, and many others.

WWE also issued a small statement on its website reading, “WWE is saddened to learn of reports that Jonathan Rechner, best known for competing in ECW as Balls Mahoney, has passed away. WWE extends its condolences to Rechner’s family, friends and fans.“

A GoFundMe.com campaign has been set up to cover the costs of the funeral as well as helping out his wife Gayle and their young son Christopher. The campaign hopes to raise $25,000 in total. You can help out by going to https://www.gofundme.com/34ywfnfw.
