Just moments ago, WWE Hall of Famer Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States of America, capping off a year and a half of campaigning.
A complete outsider when the primaries started, Trump bulldozed his way through all his opponents and faced the equally-unpopular Hillary Clinton in the presidential election. Trump ended up passing the 270 electoral college vote threshold with a few states still to go although he lost the popular vote by a couple of million votes.
President Trump is a big friend of the McMahon family and recently appointed Linda McMahon – one of his largest campaign donors – to head up the Small Business Administration, a Cabinet-level position.
Donald Trump hosted WrestleMania 4 and 5 at his Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, New Jersey and then appeared at WrestleMania 7, 10, 20, and 23. Trump appeared on Raw as well in 2009 as part of an angle that backfired on WWE after investors failed to realize it was just a storyline. He was then inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013 by Vince McMahon in Madison Square Garden.
So whoever thought a WWE Hall of Famer would never make it in the White House…well, there you have it!
