Jon Jones sentenced for misdemeanor DWI charge, avoids jail time

Jon Jones, the current UFC Light Heavyweight champion, was sentenced this morning for his misdemeanor DWI charge that he picked up back in mid-May.

Jones was fined $1,000 and will need to install ignition interlocks on all of his vehicles according to a story on New York-based PressConnects.com

Apart from those two, Jones will also need to complete a victim impact panel within 90 days and received a six-moth license suspension.

Jones pleaded guilty and avoided jail time for his May 19 arrest where he totaled his Bentley at around 5AM in upstate New York. He crashed his car into a NYSEG utility pole and he was also ordered to pay $6,563.62 in restitution to the utility company.
