Ronda Rousey was just the first and now the opponent that she captured the Strikeforce championship from, Miesha “Cupcake” Tate, has also joined the UFC Women’s Bantamweight ranks. Cupcake tweeted the following message last night:
“So Stoked to be fighting for the @UFC it’s been a dream of mine for along time! SO happy it’s finally come true :-D”
The former Strikeforce Women’s 135 champ is 13-3 as a professional with 6 of those wins coming by way of submission. She last competed in August at Strikeforce: Rousey vs Kaufman and was able to defeat Julie Kedzie in the third round by arm bar. Tate is a Tacoma, Washington, native who is currently affiliated with Team Alpha Male in Sacramento.
