Randy Couture joins Spike TV and Bellator MMA

Loretta Hunt of Sports Illustrated broke the news that UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture has signed a multi-year deal with Spike TV to appear for Bellator MMA and other Viacom-owned productions.

Couture’s first business with Spike and Bellator will be as a coach on the upcoming Bellator show which will be similar to The Ultimate Fighter. The show is spearheaded by Emmy Award winning producer Bertram Van Munster, who is also in charge of The Amazing Race.

The official announcement of Couture’s involvement with the two companies will come on February 5 during a press conference in Los Angeles. Hunt writes that UFC President Dana White did not like that his former star has joined the competition. Couture has recently appeared on UFC live events on FOX.
