The HORROR SHOW at Extreme Rules PPV Pick’em report

301

Hello everybody! It’s @TheMagnumDA with another edition of the PPV Pick’em. Tonight, we’ll be watching THE HORROR SHOW at Extreme Rules. You’d assume that a PPV like this would be appropriate for around Halloween, but hey…we’re getting it smack dab in the middle of the summer, because why the f*ck not? 😀 TONIGHT, Colin will put up his beloved WOPC Championship against yours truly. We’ve agreed that we’ll not put each other’s eyeballs on the line, but the WOPC Title definitely is!

What are we waiting for? ON WITH THE PICKS!

WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship
The New Day (c) vs. Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura

Colin: My opinion on The New Day being champions again, and again, and again, and again is well-known. Nakamura needs to go back to NXT where he meant something and where he was used correctly. Putting him in a tag team is a waste of his talent and potential. With that said, I still see The New Day winning here.

Magnum: I gotta say…I really want to believe that Cesaro and Shinsuke have a chance here. That said, I can’t see New Day going into Summerslam without the titles. I’ll take The New Day to retain the gold.

Apollo vs. MVP

WWE United States Championship
Apollo Crews (c) vs. MVP

Colin: I like the new design of the United States title. I’ve seen people complain about it. People complain about everything no matter what. Much better than the last design. Okay, enough complaining about people complaining. I don’t see Apollo losing here, at least not for the time being. MVP has been quite a surprise addition to be honest and I like it. But Apollo retains.

Magnum: I really like the MVP/Lashley tandem, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were the next challengers for the tag titles (currently held by The Street Profits). As for tonight? I’m going to give Apollo the duke. I think he’s enjoying a nice reign with some very good title defenses on TV. Onwards and upwards for Apollo.

Asuka vs. Sasha

WWE Raw Women’s Championship
Asuka (c) vs. Sasha Banks

Colin: I really, really wish Sasha wins here, but she won’t. I’m expecting a messed-up finish, like interference from Bayley which backfires, costing Sasha to become Sasha2belts as well. They can’t pull the trigger of Sasha turning on Bayley without fans in the building. Asuka wins.

Magnum: I also like Asuka here. I think Sasha getting the win last Monday solidifed that belief. Asuka may be without Kairi Sane soon, but that title’s not going anywhere. Asuka retains.

Bayley vs. Nikki

WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship
Bayley (c) vs. Nikki Cross

Colin: I think I have better chance of becoming Smackdown Women’s champion than Nikki Cross, and I’m not even in the match. Non-starter for me, and nothing against Cross, but Bayley, just like Banks, is on fire right now.

Magnum: Again, we’re in agreement! I think that this is going to be Bayley’s most unorthodox challenge for the title, so she may have more difficulty than people think in retaining the gold. That said, Bayley’s having one hell of a year, so I think this train’s going to keep running down the tracks. Bayley retains.

Braun vs. Bray

Wyatt Family Swamp Fight (Non-title)
WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt

Colin: This is a non-title match, which automatically makes you think Wyatt will win, right? He already lost round one, but will he lose in his own gimmick match? I’m torn in this one, part of me thinks that Strowman wins and then it’s time for The Fiend to take on Strowman and part of me says Wyatt will win. I’m going for Strowman.

Magnum: I think Bray Wyatt is going to become Universal Champion once again. Heck, it could be at Summerslam! However, to get there, he’s likely going to have to win this match. I don’t know what tricks Bray will have up his sleeve, or who he is going to bring with him…maybe a returning Erick Rowan? Either way, I think Wyatt’s going to pull out all the stops and get the victory.

Rey vs. Seth

“Eye for an Eye”
Rey Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins

Colin: Such an eye-catching match! Hah! Not sure why they even went with such a stupid stipulation. I now we’re supposed to suspend our beliefs for a bit here but Jesus Christ! If Rey Rey didn’t sign, I don’t expect him to win here, so Rollins wins this.

Magnum: Sadly, Colin and I see eye-to-eye here (!!!!) I think, what will shock people even more…is how they get there to do it. Yes, I’m going to give the win to Seth Rollins, but I’m going to take this a step further and predict that Dominick plays a very big role in this match. What I can’t predict…is whether or not Dominick is going to be held hostage (which somehow leads into Rey’s eye getting pulled out), or if he’s going to be the one to do it after turning on his father. Regardless, this is Seth’s match to win, and Rey’s stipulation to regret.

Drew vs. Dolph

WWE Championship – Stipulation To Be Named That Night by Challenger
Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

Colin: I like Dolph, I really do. I was there live when he won the World title from Del Rio and the arena was popping! Unfortunately for him, Drew McIntyre is not surrendering that title anytime soon, so bye bye, Ziggler. #AndStill.

Magnum: Remember last year at Extreme Rules? When Kevin Owens pinned Dolph Ziggler in about 14 seconds? That’s exactly how serious I’m taking Dolph in this match. The McIntyre Express rolls right through Zigglerville. Drew retains.

Well, that’s going to do it for us! Enjoy the show! We will see you next month for SUMMERSLAM! @TheMagnumDA signing off.
