WWE Elimination Chamber 2021 PPV Pick’em report

Hello everybody! It’s @TheMagnumDA with tonight’s PPV Pick’em report. Well guys, this is it! The final stop on the Road to Wrestlemania is upon us! Tonight, it’s the ELIMINATION CHAMBER, and similar to a Chamber match…we have six men entering this pick’em contest, but only one man will walk into WrestleMania as the WOPC Champion. Yours truly has successfully defended the title dating all the way back to the Fall of 2020, and is taking his final step towards entering WrestleMania as WOPC Champion. Can lightning strike one more time? Let’s find out!

ON WITH THE PICKS!

Women’s Tag Title Match
Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler (c) vs. WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair

Heel Turn Tom: Nia and Shayna will retain.

Tricky Don: Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler retain. Sasha and Bianca will explode like the Mega Powers, setting up a match at WrestleMania.

The Renegade: Jax and Baszler will keep the titles.

Brother Bull: Ow, my butt! My hole! Jax and Baszler retain.

Colin: This match will probably lead to Banks vs Belair at WrestleMania. With Jax and Baszler already appearing on NXT, I don’t think they’ll do a title switch here…but it would be a good day for Banks to turn heel again and somehow cost their team the match. Jax and Baszler retain.

Magnum: There’s a hole in my heart for Ms. Jax. I still can’t get over that match with Lana. Anyways, this is going to set up Banks and Belair at Mania, so give me the champs to retain. Jax and Baszler win.

Raw Elimination Chamber – WWE Championship
Drew McIntyre (c) vs. AJ Styles vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton vs. Sheamus vs. Kofi Kingston

Heel Turn Tom: Drew McIntyre will be built up by going the whole match.

Tricky Don: Drew McIntyre retains and goes on to WrestleMania.

The Renegade: I’ll take Sheamus to win the WWE Championship.

Brother Bull: I’ve got Drew McIntyre retaining the Championship, at least in this match. Possible Cash-In, afterwards?

Colin: I don’t see anyone but Drew McIntyre heading into WrestleMania with the title. McIntyre must be the only one who never experienced fans as a champion. Well, I guess you can count Strowman too. He deserves it and I think he’s been a great champion so far in these tough circumstances. Totally expecting The Fiend to show up and mess with Orton. But yeah, Drew wins.

Magnum: I agree with Colin – Orton’s going to get eliminated from this thing rather quickly. Just as he starts to get on a roll with the RKO’s, Little Miss Bliss (or Bray himself) will show up. As for the rest of the bout? I think we finally get the Drew/Sheamus blowoff, and…in shocking fashion, Sheamus becomes the WWE Champion.

Bonus #1: What 2 Wrestlers start the match? One point for each correct answer.

Heel Turn Tom: Drew McIntyre and AJ Styles

Tricky Don: Drew McIntyre and Kofi Kingston

The Renegade: Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton

Brother Bull: Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton

Colin: I’m thinking Drew McIntyre will be in the match from the very beginning and him winning the match would build him stronger. Joining him #2 will be Randy Orton, because we haven’t seen McIntyre vs Orton enough lately. Hah!

Magnum: I think we’ll need workhorses to start, and Sheamus already stated that he’ll go last, so I’ll take Drew and AJ Styles to start this match.

Bonus #2: Who is eliminated first?

Heel Turn Tom: Jeff Hardy

Tricky Don: Kofi Kingston

The Renegade: Kofi Kingston

Brother Bull: Jeff Hardy

Colin: Jeff Hardy in the WWE championship match goes out first. I was actually surprised he’s in this match because he hasn’t been anywhere next to a title feud lately.

Magnum: I’ve gotta believe that Jeff Hardy will have the first spectacular bump of the match. Sadly, that means he’ll be gone very soon after that.

Bonus #3: Who is eliminated last?

Heel Turn Tom: Sheamus

Tricky Don: Sheamus

The Renegade: Drew McIntyre

Brother Bull: I’m taking AJ Styles.

Colin: The way things have been built, I imagine Sheamus will be in the final two with Drew McIntyre in the WWE championship match.

Magnum: I’m with the consensus here – this has all built to Drew vs. Sheamus, so anything out of the ordinary is unlikely here. Drew McIntyre loses the WWE Championship.

WWE United States Championship – Triple Threat Match
Bobby Lashley (c) (with MVP) vs. Riddle vs. John Morrison

Heel Turn Tom: Lashley will retain.

Tricky Don: Bobby Lashley retains the US Championship.

The Renegade: I’m with the consensus – Lashley retains.

Brother Bull: The winner…and NEW United States Champion, Riddle!

Colin: I like the Hurt Business as a faction and Lashley needs to be in bigger title pictures than the United States title. Lashley wins.

Magnum: Man, this is difficult. I feel bad for Riddle in this position – he should be moving on to WrestleMania and wrestling for a championship. It’s still possible! For right now, I’ll take Lashley to retain.

Smackdown Elimination Chamber – #1 Contender’s Match
Jey Uso vs. Kevin Owens vs. King Corbin vs. Sami Zayn vs. Cesaro vs. Daniel Bryan

Heel Turn Tom: Cesaro will start to get a push with a victory here.

Tricky Don: Kevin Owens wins it and moves on to face Roman.

The Renegade: I’m also taking Cesaro – he’s on a roll.

Brother Bull: I’m digging Cesaro! It’s his for the taking!

Colin: I hate this match. Actually, I don’t hate the actual match, I just hate that whoever wins here will be the sacrificial lamb for Roman Reigns. By process of elimination, I think Corbin and Zayn have no chance in hell at this. Jey Uso neither. So it’s down to Owens, Cesaro, and Bryan. How many times we get Owens vs Reigns and Reigns goes over? Seen that, done that. So he’s out for me. Cesaro or Daniel Bryan. Hard pick to be honest. Both would be great, but I think they’ll go with Cesaro.

Magnum: The groundswell of love for Cesaro makes sense – he’s defeated Daniel Bryan on consecutive weeks, and he’s left all of his baggage behind. I like Cesaro to make the miracle run right here.

Bonus #1: What 2 Wrestlers start the match? One point for each correct answer.

Heel Turn Tom: Cesaro and Bryan

Tricky Don: Jey Uso and Cesaro

The Renegade: Cesaro and Kevin Owens

Brother Bull: Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn – how appropriate!

Colin: I’m picking Jey Uso and Kevin Owens to start things off.

Magnum: I’ve gotta believe that if KO and Daniel Bryan aren’t winning this thing, then it’s likely that they’ll start the match.

Bonus #2: Who is eliminated first?

Heel Turn Tom: Sami Zayn

Tricky Don: Daniel Bryan

The Renegade: Sami Zayn

Brother Bull: King Corbin

Colin: It has to be Sami Zayn to continue with his current “Conspiracy” angle.

Magnum: It would be hilarious to see Sami Zayn draw #3, and then get immediately eliminated by either KO or Bryan. Feeds into the “Conspiracy” storyline too!

Bonus #3: Who is eliminated last?

Heel Turn Tom: Jey Uso

Tricky Don: King Corbin

The Renegade: Daniel Bryan

Brother Bull: Jey Uso

Colin: I’m hoping, really hoping, that Daniel Bryan gets a good showing and we get a decent one-on-one with Cesaro, who is my pick to win.

Magnum: I think that Jey Uso is going to be the guy Cesaro has to beat to win this match. I’ll roll with him.

WWE Universal Championship Match
Roman Reigns (c) (with Paul Heyman) vs. Winner of Smackdown Elimination Chamber

Heel Turn Tom: Roman Reigns retains.

Tricky Don: Reigns retains.

The Renegade: Reigns picks the bones and keeps the Universal Title.

Brother Bull: I’m also in the camp that says, “Reigns retains.”

Colin: This will be Cesaro’s moment hopefully, but one which will end without a title win. Maybe he inserts himself in the title picture and it’s a three-way at WrestleMania if he gets a good showing? Who knows. If fans were in the building, this could be totally different and he could get that Kofi moment. But Reigns wins either way.

Magnum: I think I understand where this is going…Reigns need to have someone to feud with after WrestleMania, and I think Cesaro is a newer, fresher opponent for him. For tonight, there’s little doubt that Reigns shows up and wins.

That’s going to do it for all of us here at the WOPC Pick’em crew! We will see you in April for WRESTLEMANIA XXXVII in Tampa. Until then, @TheMagnumDA signing off!
