Mustafa Ali won his first major singles title at TNA’s No Surrender last night, beating Chris Sabin to become the new TNA X Division champion.
The match, the first one for Ali in TNA, headlined the streaming-exclusive event in New Orleans and it was the first time that particular title was featured in the main event in 19 years.
Sabin’s run ended after 167 days when he won it from Lio Rush at the Impact 1000 episode. Sabin tops the list with the most reigns at 10 and most combined days as champion with 635.
Ali will be appearing on TNA programming for the next several weeks.
