Steve Maclin won the Impact World title for the first time ever last night at the Rebellion pay-per-view, beating Kushida in the co-main event of the show.
Maclin pinned Kushida clean after hitting his KIA finisher.
The new champion then attacked Impact President Scott D’Amore after Maclin insisted that D’Amore put the title around his waist. D’Amore didn’t do it, and put it on his shoulder instead, and Maclin decked him.
The 35-year-old, who’s been with Impact since 2021, has never won a major title before. He is the former Steve Cutler in WWE, one third of The Forgotten Sons with Jaxon Ryker and Wesley Blake.
