Velvet Sky departs TNA Wrestling

Velvet Sky has chose to leave TNA Wrestling nearly after a decade with the company. Sky, who is the real-life girlfriend of Bubba Ray Dudley, announced her departure on Twitter.

“For the last almost 10 years I have been with a company who saw potential in me and gave me the one thing I strived for the most comping up in this business, a chance,” Sky wrote.

She said she was able to live out her dream through TNA and will never forget the experiences and the people who believed in her. “From management, to the amazing, hardworking production and crew, to all the talent at TNA, past and present, THANK YOU,” she added.

The 34 year old also thanked her fans and the Knockouts locker room and said that she had made lifelong friendships. “This isn’t goodbye, more like see you all down the road,” she concluded.

Sky joined TNA in 2007 and formed The Beautiful People team with Angelina Love shortly after. In July 2012 she briefly left TNA before returning in December of the same year. After another run, her contract went untouched and TNA chose not to renew it with Sky leaving in January 2015 after she participated in the Feast or Fired match. Once again her departure was short and in May of the same year she returned. During her time with TNA she won the Knockouts Tag Team titles once and the Knockouts title twice.
