A heel John Cena in WWE? It’s not happening says the man himself

While at the San Diego Comic Con to promote Bumblebee with his fellow co-stars, John Cena talked about playing the villain in this particular movie, the first such role for the former 16-time world champion.

As reported by ComicBook.com, Cena said that for his entire run in WWE, he’s always been the good guy and even in the movies he’s filmed so far. “It doesn’t seem like my character in the WWE will ever evolve into that bad guy role that perhaps a lot of people have wanted,” Cena said, adding that this role in Bumblebee will be a good way for his fans to see what a bad guy Cena would be like.

“So, don’t expect heel John Cena in the WWE – that’s Inside Baseball talk for some of you – but it means bad guy John Cena isn’t happening there, so this is that chance for me,” he said.

Cena will play the role of Agent Burns in Bumblebee, employed by the government agency Sector 7, where his mission is to hunt down Bumblebee and the character of Charlie Watson played by Hailee Steinfeld.
