AJ Styles becomes the number one contender for WWE World Heavyweight title

When AJ Styles lost to Chris Jericho at WrestleMania, the Internet Wrestling Community did not like it one bit that a part-timer defeated a new arrival and a favorite of their own. But less than 24 hours later, things changed drastically for the former TNA champion.

During a fatal 4 way to determine the new number one contender for the WWE World Heavyweight title, AJ Styles defeated Jericho, Kevin Owens, and the returning Cesaro to a massive pop from the crowd. Styles delivered the Styles Clash to Jericho, who returned the honors for him for the night before.

After the show was over, Styles stayed in the ring as the International crowd gave him a standing ovation for several minutes as a visibly emotional AJ shook hands and hugged with those at ringside, including Lilian Garcia and the International Raw commentary team.

AJ Styles will now face Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight title and judging by last night’s response it won’t be difficult to figure out who will be the face and who will be the heel in this program.
