Alberto Del Rio suspended 30 days for Wellness Program violation

WWE has announced that Alberto Del Rio has been suspended for 30 days starting tomorrow, August 18, for his first violation of the company’s Wellness Program policy. The announcement was published by WWE.COM today.

Del Rio, who returned to the WWE in October 2015, wrestled John Cena on Smackdown Live yesterday, losing the match in the main event. Del Rio did not have a match at SummerSlam so his suspension does not effect anything on the show.

WWE does not specify what wrestlers get popped for so at this time it’s not known what caused his suspension.
