Asuka surpasses Goldberg’s undefeated streak

NXT Women’s champion Asuka has officially passed Goldberg’s undefeated streak. The Japanese Superstar won the title at NXT Takeover: Dallas last year by defeating Bayley and has been champion ever since, defeating pretty much every woman on the NXT roster.

Asuka, in a tweet wrote, “I respect Goldberg so much. He is amazing. I am honored to be the undefeated champion with the longest streak in WWE history.”

Both Triple H and Stephanie McMahon congratulated the NXT Women’s champion on her record, using the hashtag #UDeserveIt. Even Goldberg himself chimed in, saying “the ‘streak’ is in very good hands.”

Goldberg’s streak of 173 matches came to an end after he lost the WCW title to Kevin Nash. Assuming she doesn’t get injured, the streak will likely continue up to at least NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III this August.
