Asuka vs Lynch not official yet with Paige tweeting “oops” moment

It looks like WWE jumped the gun when they announced Asuka vs Becky Lynch for the Smackdown Women’s title at the Royal Rumble during this week’s Main Event.

Former Smackdown General Manager Paige tweeted yesterday that she tried to make “one last match” before being removed from Smackdown GM “but unfortunately @BeckyLynchWWE vs. @WWEAsuka for the Smackdown Women’s Championship is NOT official for #RoyalRumble,” Paige said, adding the hash tag #oops at the end.

After the graphic was shown on screen and Main Event host Scott Stanford announced the match, the WWE.COM website did not update the match on the card. The match might still happen regardless but it was odd that it was announced on WWE television without any proper build up.
