Austin shoots down returning to the ring one more time

In comments given to the Associated Press in relation to the cover Superstar reveal, Steve Austin said that he doesn’t see himself lacing up the boots one more time.

“I think I’ve left everything that I’ve got in the ring,” he said. “There’s no reason to go back in the ring and prove anything. I had to ride off into the sunset a little bit earlier than I’d have liked. But that final match I had at WrestleMania with The Rock was my last match.”

Austin last wrestled at WrestleMania 19, losing to The Rock for the first time at a WrestleMania. Their previous encounters – WrestleMania 15 and 17 – all ended up with Austin going over and twice Austin winning the WWE title from The Rock.

The Rattlesnake toyed with Paul Heyman about a WrestleMania match with Brock Lesnar after Heyman asked him the question during their podcast on the WWE Network last month. Austin then cut a promo on Lesnar saying that he would whoop his ass.
