Backstage correspondent Kayla Braxton departing WWE

WWE backstage correspondent Kayla Braxton has announced that she is departing WWE after almost eight years. Her last assignment will be Smackdown next week from Madison Square Garden in New York.

“During my years with WWE, I was able to master the art of the backstage interview. I hope I was able to turn minutes into moments for you who watched week to week and maybe even ushered in a new fan base,” Braxton wrote.

She thanked Paul Heyman for everything he has done to elevate her career and said that she gained a wealth of knowledge from the Wiseman and for that, she’ll be eternally grateful.

“Now on the West Coast, I have been offered new opportunities that will further utilize the skills I gained working for the largest sports entertainment company in the world,” she added. “I am extremely thankful to Triple H, Nick Khan, WWE and all of its partners for allowing me to be a trusted voice on WWE television for all these years.”

She said she’s excited to reveal what is coming up next in her career, but stopped short of announcing what that is.
