Bayley gets Smackdown Women’s title shot at Backlash 2021

The second match for next month’s WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view was made official last night on Friday Night Smackdown on FOX.

The new Smackdown Women’s champion Bianca Belair will be defending her gold against a former champ herself, Bayley. Bayley, who had an amazing year in 2020, spending most of it with the title around her waist, was not part of WrestleMania.

In a backstage interview on the post-Mania Smackdown, Bayley made it known that she is going for Belair’s title and the match was made last night. The EST of WWE already has a win over Bayley.

The only other match announced so far for WrestleMania Backlash is a Mania rematch between Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre for the WWE title.
