Bayley suffers shoulder injury, SummerSlam status unknown

Bayley’s participation at SummerSlam is up in the air as the former WWE Raw Women’s champion suffered a shoulder injury during her match against Nia Jax on Raw this week.

Due to the amount of swelling involved, initial diagnosis by WWE medical personnel was inconclusive according to WWE.COM. Bayley has been told to rest the shoulder until next week, at which point doctors are hopeful that the swelling will have gone down so that she can be reevaluated.

Dr. Chris Amann told WWE.COM that further diagnostic testing on her right shoulder is required to determine the extent of the injury and see how long she will be out for.

“Everything just tensed up around it,” Bayley told WWE.com. “I’ve never had an injury like this before, so I can’t really know what it is. I guess we’re gonna see.”

Bayley won a number one contenders match against Sasha Banks last week on Raw to book her place at SummerSlam against Alexa Bliss for the WWE Raw Women’s title.
