Bobby Lashley suffering from shoulder injury, could be out for months

It looks like there was a reason why Bobby Lashley did not really have any in-ring action at the Elimination Chamber yesterday as news came out that the former champ has a shoulder injury that will probably require surgery. The news was broken by Kazeem Famuyide of the Ringer Wrestling Show podcast.

The injury happened at the Royal Rumble last month during the match against Brock Lesnar and while Lashley won the WWE title on that day, he has not wrestled since. At the Chamber, Lashley was taken out when Austin Theory was power bombed through his pod, crashing into Lashley. On the show they made it seem that Lashley hit his head and had to be taken out due to concussion protocol.

A new WWE champion was always going to be on the card as the company knew that Lashley could not wrestle at the Chamber.

PWInsider.com adds that Bobby is scheduled to take a trip to Birmingham, Alabama in the next week to visit Dr. James Andrews and get his shoulder checked.

Lashley is expected to miss out several months, including WrestleMania, if he needs to undergo surgery.
