Both Royal Rumble winners fail to win title matches at WrestleMania

Both Royal Rumble winners failed in their quest to win their respective titles yesterday at WrestleMania.

Asuka was the first one to fall, losing to Charlotte Flair by tapping out to the Figure 8 leg lock in the first swerve of the night.

Shinsuke Nakamura got the big Superstar entrance and many thought he would win as well. But AJ Styles had other ideas and pinned Nakamura clean with the Styles Clash. Nakamura and Styles hugged it out afterward and when Nakamura presented Styles with the title, he low-blowed him and turned heel in another surprise.

Apart from Randy Orton who successfully defeated Bray Wyatt last year to win the title after winning the Royal Rumble, both Roman Reigns and Batista failed to take advantage of their #1 contender’s spot in the previous two WrestleManias after winning the Rumble.
