With a week and a half to go for the big SummerSlam pay-per-view, John Cena finally got his opponent: Money in the Bank winner Baron Corbin.
The angle between the two started last week after Smackdown went off the air from USA Network and continued on the WWE Network. As the Cena vs Nakamura match ended, Corbin attacked Cena but the former 16-time champion recovered and delivered the AA to Corbin on the announce table.
The match was made official by Daniel Bryan on last night’s Smackdown.
This will be Baron Corbin’s first SummerSlam and it could not have been against a more prominent opponent. Cena, who lost to AJ Styles at SummerSlam last year, is soon off to film the Transformers spinoff Bumblebee where he has one of the leading roles.
