Charlotte Flair returns and wins Women’s Tag Team titles with Asuka

The Queen has returned! Charlotte Flair ended up being Asuka’s mystery partner at the TLC pay-per-view after her original partner, Lana, was taken out.

A happy-looking, smiling Flair posed with her arms open before the match, her first one in the ThunderDome, and by the time the night was over, The Queen and The Empress were crowned the new WWE Women’s Tag Team champions. Flair got the win for her team with the Natural Selection on Shayna Baszler.

Flair has not been on WWE television since late June after undergoing surgery to repair her surgical implants. Her last match was incidentally enough against Asuka and Asuka got her first one-on-one win against Flair on that day.

A few weeks after surgery, Flair wrote that in 2018 after WrestleMania, she found herself very sick and a trip to the doctor later, it was revealed that the problem was silicone poisoning, with one of her implants leaking for a while. She said that she was given a few options to fix the problem and chose the option with the quickest recovery time because she loves this business more than anything. This time around, the surgery was more cosmetic to fix an issue from the prior surgery and vowed to take her time and let her body rest before returning to the ring.
