Chicago fans chant for CM Punk at Payback

As expected, CM Punk was not at Payback, but at the Chicago Blackhawks hockey game at the United Center, a few miles away from the Allstate Arena, the site of last night’s pay-per-view.

However the Chicago fans at the pay-per-view made a couple of “CM Punk” chants throughout the show, starting with the moment that Paul Heyman came out at the beginning of the show.

When Heyman said he’s out to advocate for one of his Paul Heyman guys, “CM Punk” chants filled up the arena. Heyman quickly pointed out the fact that “he” is not here and that “he” is at the United Center watching the Blackhawks.

Also during the Daniel Bryan, Brie, and Stephanie McMahon confrontation in the ring, chants of “CM Punk” broke out. Bryan smiled but McMahon turned it around and told Bryan that the fans are telling him to quit just like CM Punk did! Ouch!

Punk is officially under contract to WWE till July but has not appeared on WWE television since the Royal Rumble on pay-per-view.
