CM Punk feeling good about retirement at 35

The longest reigning WWE champion in modern era, CM Punk, seems like he’s quite happy to be away from the ring.

Ever since quitting the company the day after the Royal Rumble earlier this year, the man who proclaims to be the best in the world has been busy following his Chicago Blackhawks NHL team, attending UFC events, and even baseball.

In an interview with RedEyeChicago.com, Punk was asked how does it feel to be retired at just 35 years of age.

“It’s a lot easier when you hook up with organizations like the Cubs and being friends with some of the team members. It isn’t hard to support their charities,” Punk said.

CM Punk is set to get married with former WWE Divas champion AJ Lee in the coming weeks and Lee is expected to resume her WWE duties afterward. As for Punk, his contract officially expires in July and unless there’s some divine intervention, there’s no chance of hearing “Cult of Personality” at a WWE show again. At least for now.
